Heidi has been found!
Heidi found Paul last night near the Jetport Hilton. At first she skirted in the shadows, but once she realized it was him she went right to him.
She got a much needed bath and will visit the vet first thing this morning.
Don't you love a happy ending!!!
HURRAH!!!! Good work Paul and Heidi.
And THANK YOU NANCY for posting about Heidi, and then keeping us all updated.

The news always seems to be full of sadness but in this case, there was a happy ending. Thank you God for sending such wonderful people out on the trails to make sure Heidi had food and water and for leading her safely back to Paul. There's nothing like a family reunion.

I want to thank you for letting me know that Heidi was found safe and sound - thank goodness things worked out ok!! Hopefully the vet check comes back with a perfect bill of health and things settle into a new 'normal' for you!
I've been telling my own dog about the sequence of events, she actually seemed sympathetic! Sammie sends her slobbery, happy kisses to Heidi.

What GREAT news to receive when first turning on my computer on this VERY hot humid day!! She must be one HAPPY dog to be back with her owner and his family.
Thank you Nancy for all your up dates and information. I also hope that Paul may give you future updates on how Heidi's doing now that she's safely back home.

UPDATE:
Heidi has been to the vet. She lost three pounds and had about a dozen ticks.
But she is in excellent shape. Pretty good for a dog that was hit by a car and was on the run for 13 days!
The vet said that Heidi was very fortunate. Such cases do not often end so happily.
Again, all of us in Heidi's family thank you. It would not have happened without your help.

Hi everybody
Thanks for all the help in finding my dog. I'll write more later, but thought I would at least provide a picture.

Again, thank you for everything. I think her chances were slim, but everyone came together. I don't think she woud have fared as well in any other place.

Thanks for the great picture Paul! You both look so happy!
For those of you not familiar with Portland, behind Paul and Heidi to the right is the road to the Jetport. The main road is outer Congress St (where Heidi was hit by a car) and to the left is the road that leads to the Unum campus and the woods where Heidi was hiding out for most of the time.

Wow, this is *fantastic* news! The news has made it all the way back to California, and I can tell you we're all incredibly happy that Heidi and her pet, Paul, have been re-united. :-)
Seriously, though: this is such a great ending to a tense story. Glad it has ended well.
Now, go enjoy the East Coast, Heidi!

I have been following story for the last 13 days. I am Linda from Alaska and I let out a big "Cheer" this morning when I read that Heidi had been found by Paul. The photo of them speaks volumes.
I am so pleased that she is alright and home with her family.
Lovely ending,
Linda

I didn't catch this story until near the end. Lucky dog. Lucky man. So satisfying to read about a happy ending.
I'm proud of Portland.
